There’s only a few hours left in 2018 which means it’s time again for New Years resolutions. One of the most popular New Years resolutions is to get healthy, whether that be through exercise or diet. If your New Years resolution is to eat healthier but also don’t want to give up all treats, here are my 5 favorite healthy desserts.
1. Chocolate Covered strawberries
This is one of my favorite desserts and has been since I was a kid. I would help my mom make them by dipping the strawberries in the chocolate. the best part was when I would sneak some melted chocolate! This is such a simple treat that takes no time at all! All you have to do is melt some bittersweet chocolate and dip clean strawberries in it. Lastly, let them set and you're done!
2. Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cups
My dad and I share so many interests but one thing we both love is raspberry and chocolate. Something about the sweet, tart berry mixed with dark chocolate is just so appealing! My favorite way to combine these two flavors is by melting dark chocolate and pouring it into a chocolate wrapper, then just push the raspberry in. Let it cool in the freezer and then enjoy!
This is a great dessert or even snack to have if you are craving something sweet! Slice the apple of your choice and lay them flat on a plate. Then melt some peanut butter and drizzle it over the apples. Then add toppings of your choice. I like chocolate chips and coconut shreds!
4.Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas
Yum! I mean who doesn't like chocolate covered bananas? They are a great treat when you are in need of some potassium and sugar. They are great after a workout! To make these all you do is take a peeled banana, put a popsicle stick in one end and then dip it into melted chocolate. After that put it in the freezer for about an hour!
5.Dark chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites
Last but not least, this dessert is perfect for peanut butter/chocolate lovers. To make it you cut a peeled banana into slices. Then using peanut butter make a mini sandwich with two banana slices. Lastly, dip the little sandwich into melted chocolate and chill for about an hour!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have a wonderful year that is full of baking, history and happiness!
